Iriana Muñoz is a sculptural origami artist folding peace into paper.Born in Venezuela and based between Miami and Costa Rica, her journey with origami began in 2004 as an unexpected university elective that quickly became a lifelong passion.Over the years, folding paper became more than a creative outlet—it became a meditative practice, a way to reconnect with herself, and a healing process through life’s most challenging moments. Her wall sculptures are intricate compositions made from hundreds of hand-folded units. Every piece is built through patience, intention, and plenty of music, allowing geometric precision to transform into something deeply emotional. While the art may look perfectly structured, it’s the stillness and energy within it that speak the loudest.Time and again, collectors have shared how Iriana’s work brings serenity into their homes.
That feeling—that calm—is the purpose behind every fold.In harmony with her values, Iriana works with high-quality, eco-conscious materials, honoring the natural world that so often inspires her.

Statement and Portfolio

Origami found me in 2004, and I’ve never stopped folding since. What began as a curiosity became my passion, my therapy, and my way of navigating the world.I create sculptural wall pieces by folding and assembling hundreds of geometric units—each one connected with care, rhythm, and emotional presence. The process places me in a meditative state of mind. Every fold is a form of release, of presence, of quiet power. While I’ve experimented with light, volume, and various techniques over the years, what remains constant is the energy I embed into each structure. These pieces are not just decorative—they hold emotion. They carry intention.I’ve come to realize that my art brings peace. It’s a message I receive again and again from those who collect or experience my sculptures. There’s a stillness within the geometry, a soft strength that resonates with those who need it.For me, it’s not about trends or formulas—it’s about healing, storytelling, and connection. My purpose is to fold serenity into form—one fold at a time.
